Healing Democracy Action Circle, Meeting #2
November 15, 2019 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
SIX-MONTH ACTION CIRCLE: each meeting is independent. Join us at any time throughout the 6 months.
We each care about our country, humanity, and the world. We all wish our democracy worked better. We ask, is there something practical and meaningful we can do? There is. Let’s tackle these yearnings together, in community and solidarity. This is not about any candidate, political party, or right/left-red/blue issue. It is about us, “we the people,” in healing dialogue with each other.
In the lead up to 2020 elections, Lee and Karen (aka Rennie) invite you to join us for a series of conversations focused on healing our democracy. We need each other in order to draw out our own power and agency and to extend it to the community and the country at large.
We believe that by thoughtfully focusing on our own internal chaos around politics, and through gentle engaged dialogue with others who share and/or disagree with our confusion and heartache, we will find clarity, strength, and insight. From there, we are better positioned to be servants and leaders for the good of the country – engaged citizens who love others and are able to listen to and speak for what Lincoln called “the better angels of our nature.”

We will meet one Friday evening a month from October 2019 through March 2020. The content of our meetings comes from Parker Palmer’s program, The Healing Democracy Action Circle. We’d love to have you join us for the entire series, but please drop in when you can; each meeting stands alone.
